How SMP Works for Density
Firstly, let’s clear up the most commonly asked question from clients. Do you need to shave your hair to receive SMP for density purposes? And there is no way of putting this answer down in poetic terms, so it’s in simple terms – no. You don’t. When a technician provides you with treatment resulting in the appearance of a fuller head of hair they will work through the existing hair, section by section. Slowly but surely, pigments are implanted underneath the outer layer of your skin. This implant is embedded by microneedle into the upper dermis layer. The dermis layer is located just underneath this outer, waterproof layer and once the pinpricks received from the microneedle have healed, the pigment will become trapped. This is the indelible marking that resembles a series of tiny hair follicles.
