Buttock augmentation surgery or Buttock enhancement is a plastic surgery procedure that enhances the buttocks' shape, contour, and size by surgical and non-surgical.

How does the Procedure Work?

During the procedure, the surgeon makes incisions in the upper part of the buttocks (gluteal creases) or the sacrum area between them. The implants are then placed either in or above the buttock muscle, and the incisions are closed with sutures.

If fat grafting is used, fat is taken through liposuction and re-injected into the buttocks to improve shape and size with a natural look.

The specific technique depends on the type of implant, your expectations, and your surgeon's judgement.

Prepare for your Buttock Augmentation Appointment

After your initial consultation appointment with your plastic surgeon, you will be required to prepare for the procedure if you have been given the go-ahead for a buttock augmentation treatment. Here are some preparatory steps you can take before D-day:

Discuss with your surgeon and physician and stop taking anticoagulants, other medications, vitamins and mineral supplements like vitamin E that can interfere with your body’s bleeding and clotting abilities.
Quit smoking at least two months before your surgery date as smoking interferes with your body’s blood flow and affects its healing capacity and treatment results.
Maintain a stable weight for a few months before the procedure..
Stay in the best possible health and maintain all health parameters within the normal range..

Immediately after your treatment, a dressing will be placed on the incisions on your buttocks.
You may experience mild pain or discomfort for the first few hours, but your doctor will prescribe pain relievers for comfort. An antibiotic course will be prescribed to prevent infection to the treated area.
Avoid standing or sitting for too long for the first three weeks after the surgery. You can use a doughnut-shaped pillow for sitting for short periods.
You will be required to come for regular follow-ups to allow your surgeon to monitor your healing and the results after discharge.
You can begin working out around five to six weeks after the treatment.
